MR. ANTHONY TIME A BEACON OF HOPE ATTESTING THAT EDUCATION IS LIMITLESS TO AGE

ARTICLE

When Mr. Anthony Time matriculated back in 1983, his father told him that he could not afford to take both him and his brother to institutions of higher learning; instead Mr. Time was left with no option but to pursue a career as a technician at a well-known government parastatal. After 25 years of service, he decided to terminate his service with his employer hoping to make a huge success as an entrepreneur within property development services, which eventually did not work in his favour.

Being a naturally tenacious and spirited individual, Time did not let the life challenges deter him to keep moving forward and lingering on hope. Instead, he sought for another employment at a private company and served between 2008 and 2010. For latter two years before making a decision to come to Goldfields TVET College and study NC(V) Civil Engineering and Building Construction; Time struggled to make ends meet and ventured into another entrepreneurial efforts that he operated in his home premises; assisted by his wife and children, but that too did not work out well in the end.

2013 was a turning point for Mr. Time as he boldly utters, he enrolled for a programme at the College where he was encouraged by Tosa Campus Lecturing Personnel to pursue his dreams. He is swift to acknowledge that becoming a full time student at the age of 46 was not an easy task since that was coupled with juggling his studies and having to labour during the weekends so that he can be able to provide for his family too. Despite the challenges he was bombarded with, Time is proud of completing his studies on record time and now at the age of 50 studying towards a National Diploma in Building Construction at Central University of Technology.

Time has received numerous academic awards and certificates for excellence, in addition, he was a top achiever for NCV level 2 to 4 in Civil Engineering and Building Construction for 3 consecutive years. The College is very pleased to constantly service and render quality education and training to all its stakeholders young and old; and binds itself in continuing to educate the students at the full development of human disposition, instilling sense of dignity by bestowing necessary skills to enable all our students to enjoy and appreciate human existence, and participate in the future economic development. The College wishes Mr. Anthony Time the best of luck in all his future endeavours.
